Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance's producer Atsushi Inaba hasn't responded too kindly to fans comparing the game to Ninja Gaiden 3.
Revenegance's E3 2012 trailer attracted comparisons between the two hack-and-slash title but Inaba doesn't want Platinum Games' title to be compared to the "s*****" Ninja Gaiden 3:
"It seems the game play portions of the trailer are quite popular. The ability to slice everything is a refreshing feature, and the playable cutscenes are well received too.
"People have been comparing it to Ninja Gaiden, but at least Ninja Gaiden 3 was a shitty game that cannot be helped. I don’t want it to be compared to that."
Despite criticizing a fellow developer's game so publicly, Inaba has no regrets in saying:
"Since I’m free to say my real opinions, I can be as frank as I want."
Although critics weren't too impressed with Tecmo Koei's Ninja Gaiden 3, it still managed to ship 630,000 units. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, meanwhile, is expected for an early 2013 launch on consoles.
