Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 revealed, Tomb Raider and Dishonored gameplay debut
Metal Gear Rising, Guardians of Middle-Earth also receive fresh trailers
Tonight saw the debut of several trailers for both new games and previously announced ones, covering Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 to Eidos' highly anticipated Tomb Raider revival. The videos -- some plain CG, others more gameplay oriented -- come by way of SPIKE TV and their pre-E3 show.
First, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is officially revealed with a debut CG trailer. For those who haven't finished the first game and plan to, there are a few spoilers found here, namely regarding Gabriel's fate and the Belmont lineage. Also, some guy whose name starts with "A" might show up -- just saying.
Sticking with the Konami theme, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance also had a special CG trailer. Nothing new here, but Kojima notes that despite the action gameplay, his studio is ensuring the game maintains its Metal Gear spirit. Raiden also has more at his disposal than a katana, though this was pretty obvious already.
Guardians of Middle-Earth was already revealed by Warner Bros. earlier this week, but tonight saw the first trailer for this console MOBA. It's all CG, so don't expect any gameplay. Still, it's a pretty damn awesome trailer, as far as CG trailers go.
Both Bethesda's Dishonored and Eidos' Tomb Raider had E3 2012 trailers to show off tonight as well, though these two actually threw in a bit of gameplay. Makes sense, given we've already been hearing about both titles in previous months.
The Dishonored trailer shows off a variety of environments from the game, then moves on to Corwin's rampage as he cuts down seemingly unarmed individuals no doubt responsible for his ill fortunes in some way. Cue eerie music of a children humming and singing. Check it out.
Last but not least, Tomb Raider's debut E3 trailer rounds up the evening's small but impressive collection. It's also exceptionally violent, offering us a further glimpse of the horrors that await Lara and her allies on the island.
Some very bad people are stomping around, and no one is quite safe, including our young adventurer to be. Disturbingly, one captor attempts to rape Lara, and we watch as she kicks, bites, and kills her way to freedom. That's definitely something that made my skin crawl.
All in all, tonight didn't see too many crazy reveals -- not as much as we'd originally expected, anyway. And you know, we're honestly fine with that, because we'd prefer to hear our surprises directly at E3 next week.

I wish they would just stick with the 2d or 2.5d Castlevanias, I was never a big fan of the 3d ones (too DMCish,) and LoS didn't succeed in swaying my decision...
