EA has finally released it's list of games to be shown during E3, and oddly enough SimCity's listing also included an oddly specific release date. SimCity is planned to be shipped in February of 2013, but we'll hopefully be able to see the game in full-motion during E3 next week.
Here's SimCity's entry in the press release:
Powered by the GlassBox simulation engine, SimCity is taking back its crown as the king of city-building games. Players will have the power to build the city of their dreams, connect with their friends and face real-world challenges together as SimCity comes to retail and Origin in February 2013.
· Platform: PC
· Ship Date: February 2013
· ESRB Rating: "RP" for Rating Pending
Also, check out these three new screenshots of in-game SimCity, shots that are meant to be representative of the game as opposed to the trailers we've seen up until now. They're very colorful, angular and the cell-shading creates a clean and appealing look. Previous SimCity games have each looked very messy, which is great for simulation fans, but offputting to a greater market.
Hopefully we'll have some impressions of SimCity for you next week, something to wet your pallette until February 2013.
