In an unexpected development, 505 Games has announced Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise, a sequel to their 2010 summer title.
Panic in Paradise will be downloadable, unlike its predecessor, from Xbox LIVE and PSN when it's released this fall. The game once again drops in on Naughty Bear, the shunned outcast on Perfect Island. As the other bears prepare for vacation, said naughty one goes about killing them all.
505 brand manager Victoria Reeve comments:
“Following the success of our first outing with Naughty Bear, we really wanted to push the limits and give players a lot more freedom to be as naughty as they can and help Naughty Bear get revenge on the other bears who have been so mean to him. With the first Naughty Bear game audiences responded well to the juxtaposition of cuddly innocence, dark humor and over the top violence. We’re really looking forward to seeing what they make of all the great new features we’ve packed into Naughty Bear Panic in Paradise.”
Yes, we're a bit surprised by this, given that the first Naughty Bears wasn't exactly rated too well, and we didn't think it sold enough to warrant a sequel. But hey, power to 505, and maybe the second game will be better. The reaction on YouTube to their debut trailer isn't exactly positive, though.
