Today's Zone of the Enders event by Konami has been pretty amazing. News broke about production starting for a Zone of the Enders sequel, and all sorts of information on the Zone of the Enders: HD Collection were revealed. The sad part is, it's all Japan exclusive right now -- no global or North American release information. The good part is, everything looks awesome.
Japan will be receiving the Zone of hte Enders: HD Collection on October 25 for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In addition to a standard release, Japan will also have the option of a special edition bundle that includes a remixed soundtrack, glossy booklets for both of the remade titles, and the ReBOOT Book, which features dialogues between Hideo Kojima and art director Yoji Shinkawa looking at the remake's development.
The remake will feature significant upgrades, of which the most dramatic will be an enhancement up to 720p and a boost from 30 to 60 frames per second. "Visual effects have also been improved, as has the quality of background music and sound effects." There will also be a completely new opening movie made my prominent anime studio Sunshine.
While no release date for Zone of the Enders: HD Collection has been announced beyond Japan, expect to hear more hopefully by or during E3. Konami has a keynote event, and you can definitely expect them to have some Zone of the Enders to show around. Look forward to it!
