Activision and EA's $400 million lawsuit settled out of court
Zampella and West court case against Activision still stands
Activision has settled their $400 million lawsuit against Electronic Arts in an out of court settlement.
The Call of Duty publisher had claimed that former Infinity Ward co-heads Jason West and Vince Zampella were sacked for alleged insubordination, with EA accused of luring the pair away from the firm. Now, Activision has reached a deal with EA, with a joint statement reading: "Activision and EA have agreed to put this matter behind them."
This settlement, however, does not affect West and Zampella's court case against Activision regarding their dismissal from Infinity Ward in 2010. The duo will go to court against the company on May 29, despite Activision's failed attempt to have the court date delayed by a month. The company had also paid $42 million to ex-developers from the Modern Warfare studio.
Soon after being fired by Activision, both West and Zampella founded Respawn Entertainment, with their first game being published by EA.
