Two things. First, he has since corrected his profile and said it was a typo.

Second, where did you get this info from: "the company has spent several billions in the R&D department alone for the PlayStation 3."?!

Billions???

I never understand how companies are strict on keeping new release secret but employeers just put them on linkedin. You think that would be one of the things they crack down on.

So if its official why should we care about rumors from now on. Just have to wait and see till final product is showcased at E3. But yes it would seem that going all digital "only download games, no discs" would be wise to prevent piracy. But also having greater risk of being hacked by "*************" thus raising the question how protected will our account be and our personal data? My suggestion would be to only use P.S.N cards for purchasing anything threw P.S.N. Or run the risk of being another victim to hackers.

I have a really bad feeling about this system for some reason...
This and Microsoft's system, which is why I decided to go towards the pc master race route.

Nintendo will reign supreme once more
Sony/Microsoft shall be never more
I wouldn't mind a Nintendo-run gaming industry, if it wasn't Nintendo run, er, if you know what I mean. Maybe Sega will step up and make a good system or something, then it'd be like going back to the future!

Ded Valve More a question of when rather than if.
I can't wait to spend $399 USD on the PS4! *controller, power cables, vga cables, disc slot, harddrive not included*

This isn't a Microsoft system... Everything you'll need will be in the box.

yeah seriously. stuff came with the ps3. it was the 360 that didn't come with anything.
stuff will come with the ps4.

Exactly. That's why people who said the 360 is cheaper were full of shit. I ended up spending the same amount of money, just to get the 360 up to speed.

I know, it's ridiculous!
My brother got a 360, but ended up getting rid of it to replace it with a PS3. For the same total price as the PS3, he got a system that he felt had worse games, a poorly set-up and childish XMB, and annoying online policies. He also didn't want to pay for xbox live. So he got smart and got a PS3 like me!

So long as Sony decides to re-add Backwards and Compatibility to their vocabulary.

Except microsoft has everything in the box minus the cheapest (now extinct) core version or whatever from '06.

Sony on the other hand seems to enjoy taking their money and burning it in the least efficient way possible. If they don't learn from their mistakes (a 4rth time) I fully expect the console to be high priced (but still sold at a loss) with almost no bells and whistles attached. Much like the vita.

What are you talking about? Everything in the box? No charger and no rechargeable batteries. Plus you have to pay for Xbox live. Xbox is not cheaper.

Lol no batteries? Really the best you can think of? It has all the bells and whistles. you don't need xbox live to enjoy it, just like you don't need PSN.

You keep saying "bells and whistles", but what do you mean by that? Can you give some examples, just so that I understand?

Everything needed to run the console properly and play games...properly. Console, Controller, harddrive (no matter how low), in many cases depending on bundle, kinect and xblive (not required to play games).

The xbox, PS3, Wii, etc. brings everything necessary to the table. My statement was Sony's money grabbing technique with the Vita to lower costs and have us spend more out of the box JUST to play games.

Fair enough, but the point here is that my brother spent less money on his PS3 than he would have on his xbox.
