Atlus' quirky tower offense title Rock of Ages has only just been released to PSN, a good many months after it launched on XBLA and Steam. Well, the publisher is more than eager to make up for this gap, so the PSN version includes a "host of added features and content."
The new "Obstacle Course" game mode allows players to compete online or locally (or against AI opponents) on a stage stocked with random defenses; first person to reach the finish line wins. An enhanced version of "War" mode unlocks a number of defensive units that would normally be inaccessible because of the stage and time period.
Now in addition to these two major gameplay additions, the PSN version also includes "a new tactical wrinkle for explosive defenses, added boulder skins to enjoy, and a wealth of tweaks and refinements." All this stuff is currently exclusive to PS3, but Atlus notes this could change later on.
Rock of Ages is also a free download for Plus subscribers right now, for an unspecified period of time.
