Ghost Recon: Future Soldier launch trailer has a Call of Duty flavor

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is just one week away from console release, so the timing is about right for a launch trailer. Ubisoft put out the obligatory pre-release trailer today, and you know, there are a lot of explosions in it. Possibly some Steve Blum too.

As a member of an elite unit of spec ops soldiers, superior tactics and fancy gadgets are your bread 'n' butter. Well, you don't need us to tell you what Ghost Recon is all about, but the whole "tactical shooter" aspect winds up lost in today's heavily action-driven trailer.

Explosions occupy just about every action sequence, scenes play out between quick flashes of black, and a matching rock tune plays in the background. A little more generic than we'd like to have seen from the Future Soldier launch trailer, but whatever works.

Expect the game to hit Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 22. The PC version will be arriving a tad later on June 12.
