While personally I find Minecraft's true beauty in the isolation of a single-player game, there's no argument that the sheer creativity found on a multiplayer server is something unique. A uniqueness currently unexplained in Minecraft's Xbox 360 port. Check out Minecraft's multiplayer on the 360 in this new trailer, and I've also added a link to eminent Minecraft experts Hatventures discussing it.
What sort of multiplayer system can Xbox 360 gamers expect? Well, let's start with the most significant addition: four player split-screen co-op. A feature even a high-brow PC gamer like myself is quite jealous of! Sit on your couch, invite some friends over, try and build a castle together while pouring over a hand-written design on the coffee table in front of you. If four people isn't enough, invite four more over Xbox Live for a maximum total of 8 concurrent players.
Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition will be available on May 9, wrapping up the spring Arcade Next event on Xbox Live. We considered asking Notch if he's excited for the release, but he's busy on Twitter.
