Minecraft creator and Mojang boss Markus Persson has voiced his dissapproval over the recently outed Indie Bundle from EA.
Notch said on Twitter that Electronic Arts utilizing the term indie for its game pack is ludicrous:
"EA releases an ‘indie bundle’? That’s not how that works, EA. Stop attempting to ruin everything, you bunch of cynical bastards. I don’t even call Mojang indie any more. Vlambeer is indie. Polytron is indie. Stephen, Ed, Terry, Derek, Tommy and Chris are indie. Indies are saving gaming. EA is methodically destroying it."
The bundle in question was spotted on Steam and includes six EA-published titles including titles from the Shank and DeathSpank series.
A handful of the games within the bundle are fairly popular despite being developed by indie studios. With a major publisher such as EA backing the titles, they received a considerable amount of exposure, such as the DeathSpank IP being released on consoles and PC and spawning three installments.
