Buyout wasn't so much based on the presentation but on rapid user acquisition instead. Marketing wise it was still a strong move for them, even developers in the space knew from past examples in Korea that similar games only had a mass market appeal for a few months before they were overshadowed by new offerings.

Can't speak for everyone else, but yes, I quit playing after the Zynga buyout. Also, the drama where OMGPOP's CEO called an employee a failure for quitting and not joining Zynga.

Bonehead move for the CEO given they are a social gaming company /facepalm, for Zynga it was an investment in their data and converting more consumers over to their space. Fortunately for the employees that left, they can always start over in that space with a fairly decent turn around time. They have a domestic hit under their belt and so VC companies won't be as reluctant to get in with them on a new venture.

My brother actually wanted me to get on board with it, honestly my interests have faded in the mobile gaming arena as of late, nothing to really catch my eye. Back to Sketchbook pro and netflix on my end.

So people stopped using the app just because Zynga bought it? Did Zynga eat a baby or something? I must be really out of the loop lol.

all i have to say is.....gaiaonline lost OMGPOP and took off all there games......so that can account for some of the loss but not all 4k

Personally, I get bored of all these social mobile games really quickly. Draw Something is especially bad in its longevity though. I guess the same words all the time, and I'm given the option to draw the same words all the time. I'm not sure what the size of the word pool is, but it can't be very big.
