Following a rumor that Bayonetta 2 has been canceled, the original game's creator has teased a reveal for the sequel.
Hideki Kamiya, who created the IP, as well as Capcom's Devil May Cry series, has responded to speculation that publisher SEGA canned the development of Bayonetta 2. The unannounced sequel, however, looks far from canceled, if a tease by the title's lead designer is anything to go by. In response to a fan, Kamiya simply states: "Next week's game magazines..."
Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba, meanwhile, reacted to the rumor by saying:
"We've heard all the rumors on the net. What do you guys think? Too bad it got cancelled, huh?"
This was followed by the posting of a mock artwork teaser, which was retweeted by Kamiya, featuring Bayonetta and Vanquish's Robert Burns. Unfortunately, though, we've clearly been trolled, as you can clearly see in the tweet.
Kamiya further responded to the rumor by stating on Twitter:
"Game that hasn't been announced cannot be canceled, so I know Bayo 2 is safe in your mind-heart and around PG office."
