Risen 2: Dark Waters looks to be on track for its PC release later this month, but the console versions have been delayed yet again. When developer Piranha Bytes announced the first pushback in March, they assured everyone development for consoles was still going a whole lot better than it had for Risen, which was frankly a bit of a mess compared to its PC counterpart.
Now, Xbox 360 and PS3 owners curious about the magic-and-pirate RPG will need to wait until July 31 -- August 3, if you're in Europe. Here's hoping that extra time will allow for a better game.
On the bright side, console versions will come with a few extra hours of additional content with the "The Air Temple" episode. In this sub-plot, players head to a lost temple, believed to be the source of air magic, in search of an old acquaintance, Eldric. The quest will take our hero out to Storm Island, where the temple is found.
Risen 2 will hit PC as a digital-only title, and the console versions will be released as retail.
