OK, this actually sort of brilliant. It's the sort of game I've been wanting for ages really, a game like those sniper games on consoles years ago, but more dynamic. Though I do hope there are 'stealth' missions where you remain in the far distance to kill people in windows without the rest of the enemy realizing. I bet there will be hostage missions in this game too.

I would like to try the Mosin-Nagant gun if it exists in this game. Not strictly a sniper's gun, but one of the best sharpshooters in history used one, and there are others that are similarly successful that did as well. Wouldn't be an 'elite' gun, but more like one for early on.

What difficulty were you playing on? Cadet? Or 'normal'? I bet the "Sniper Elite" difficulty would be hard. Nice to see a game where bullet drift is a factor. Dropping isn't an uncommon mechanic in modern shooters, it's the drifting that tends to get ignored.

I'm DLing the demo now BTW. Hopefully I'll get around to checking it out before the game comes, and see if I like it.

There is another game coming out soon~ish (June), Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2. Seems rather colorful. Rather unlike the drab grey, brown, and more brown.

I love the killcams. Makes each kill all the more satisfying. I never get tired of seeing them. Especially the x-rays.

Shadow of Death I played on Normal for that video so it wouldn't take as long, but I tried Elite a bit after and it seemed fine. Drifting is definitely cool.

The first Ghost Warrior game was kind of mediocre, wasn't it?

Despite Elite having a lot of brown, I find it pretty vibrant overall.

chautemoc - I can't say I've played the first one, actually. These sorts of games don't get a lot of publicity, so I usually don't hear about them. When I do see them, I admit I don't exactly spend a lot of time researching them.

If there is a demo for the sequel though, I might try it and see how it goes.

Shadow of Death I didn't play it or pay much attention to it, but I heard bits and pieces and it sounded like it was mediocre. Maybe they'll make significant improvements, though, who knows.

chautemoc - I think I have to be a little more open to sequels of mediocre games these days, since there is evidence that they can sometimes be good.

Though I never played either the first or the sequel, but Two Worlds I think is a good example from what I've heard. The first was generally considered to be terrible, whereas the follow up if I recall correctly, was much better thought of.

Just Cause was really not fun to play and looked rather bad. Just Cause 2 was absolutely brilliant.

There was something else I was going to mention, another example...Can't think of it. Oh well. In any case, we'll have to wait and see. Generally though, sequels to mediocre games tend to be....Mediocre >_>

Another gameplay video, this one made me laugh pretty hard, the guys playing talk throughout, it's just great.

About 15 minutes into that video is a pretty awesome kill.

Shadow of Death I think the reason for that is often down to budget. First game has smaller budget/audience, can't be polished in time, suffers critically and commercially; sequel has bigger audience and therefore bigger budget, so the game can be polished, at least moreso, does better critically and commercially. That is the impression I get from the Two Worlds games. Also the first game is apparently quite good now (apart from that horrendous voice acting), after all its patches.

Lorx Here is seven minutes of nut shots, you sick bastard, you. You'll also probably enjoy this one, which features a triple takedown. I managed to get two double kills back to back at the same part, but couldn't manage a triple.

I cringe every time I see those nut shot killcams. Oh, the horror. I can't look away.

I thoroughly enjoyed this demo. Though, I agree that it was super linear. Still lots of fun, played it on Ultra - very smooth action and when I found out how to remove the red square thing, it got 10x more fun. So I'm pretty sure I'll get this game when it's out.

Thought the demo was a good interpretation of what the game will be. I have no doubts in my mind that some levels will change it up a bit, but I have a feeling this game will get rather repetitive rather fast just like other shooters.

Having played this I await anxiously for Sniper 2 which while it is the same general concept it has the eye candy I'm after.. I wasn't all that impressed by the graphics of Sniper Elite it looked nice and the lighting was cool, but it just felt rather dated looking.

I'll probably pick this up in a sale for £15 or so 2-3 months from now. £26.99 is a good price but I can't justify it for something that could very well be rather monotonous after the joy of being a sniper wears off.

chautemoc - Lawl, I can't believe the game has actual nutshot killcams XD Gives it bonus points!

Also, I've been wondering...What are points for? Just level scores or will they unlock something (like better guns)?

Shadow of Death I think it's just level scores. Pretty sure they said guns are found, not unlocked, but not positive. Maybe there are other unlocks.
