We like to think High Moon Studios is made up of Transformers fans, and their work on War for Cybertron certainly backs up this theory. Today, the studio releases a new video for the sequel, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, and it's all about Grimlock.
Grimlock, the Tyrannosaurus rex Dinobot from G1, was thrust into the spotlight starting with FoC's first teaser. He subsequently appeared in other videos as well, including a lengthy CG trailer released last year, but today marks our first in-depth look at Grimlock as a playable character.
Game director Matt Tieger is the voice you'll hear in the walkthrough, which is comprised of alpha footage rather than "actual" gameplay. We're still being given a better idea of how Grimlock plays, and as Tieger notes, his brawler style makes him unlike any other Transformer in the games.
Not surprisingly, the team ended up rewriting the Dinobots' origin story to explain their presence in space; no story details are mentioned during the walkthrough. It may be worth noting that in Marvels' Transformers comics, the Dinobots already existed on Cybertron as a spec ops team aligned with the Autobots, though we can't be sure if High Moon will be borrowing any of this material or just making their own. We're hoping for the latter.
Watch the video all the way through to see an iconic winged Dinobot teased near the end.
