Death is neither early nor late, he arrives precisely when he means to. So if Death wants his game, Darksiders II, to arrive in August rather than June then you better damn well let Death do what he wants.
In all seriousness, THQ's Mathew Everett -- known to many by his community name "THQSledgehammer" -- made the delay announcement earlier this morning. There's nothing insidious implied in the delay, if you were thinking THQ was getting involved. Just business as usual.
"This small delay is to allow additional time for polish and bug fixing. As we’ve stated in numerous articles and videos, Darksiders II is substantially larger game than its predecessor and the ambition of this project requires extra time to polish to the high standards that Vigil Games and THQ are committed to."
Everett even provides a FAQ to answer the silliest of questions surrounding the delay. No, the game has not been effected by the Wii U launch; no, the game was not effected by the Vigil Games layoffs; no, content is not being removed from the game. How suspicious though, they never mentioned if content is being cut from the game to be made into pre-order content! Oh wait, they've already taken care of that.
