The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition just launched yesterday on PC and Xbox 360, and with that developer CD Projekt has said the game is "finally finished" and that they're "really happy with it".
"[There are no future updates] I can really comment about,” level designer Ziemak Marek says. “Right now we feel that this is the most polished and refined version of The Witcher 2. I don’t think there’s going to be a need to change something. I think this time we improved everything we wanted to.”
It's nearly a year after launch now, so with this news you might figure the game debuted in terrible shape like its predecessor. This is actually not the case. As noted in our PC review, aside from a couple of major flaws, the game was actually thoroughly well-made and still highly enjoyable -- what we've seen in patches since has been mostly subtle bug fixes, plus gameplay tweaks and feature additions, making a great experience even greater.
