League of Legends developer Riot Games appears to have set its brand protection agent on a new task. A dozen new domains were registered regarding the title League of Legends: Supremacy, including Supremacy.com and Supremacy.net. The variety of registrations, along with the likely expensive single-word domains, heavily hint at a new League game type being announced soon.
That's an ambiguous "soon", of course. The League of Legends: Dominion game-type was officially announced just before Gamescom Cologne, and then playable at the event. Expect Riot to do something similar with Supremacy, such as announcing the mode at E3, PAX Prime, or Gamescom again. Then again, with the sudden burst of activity, perhaps we can expect an announcement much sooner. Who knows, as Riot is particularly good at scheduling their own leaks.
If I could guess, or just express my hopes, the ambiguous title Supremacy sounds like a good name for a free-for-all map. Or potentially one with more than two teams, battling king-of-the-hill style. Ah, delicious speculation. What does League of Legends: Supremacy sound like to you?
