Dark Souls: Prepare to Die for PC is official
The masochistic dark fantasy RPG arrives in late August
It's been a long road since gamers started a petition to get Dark Souls ported to the PC platform. It garnered 10,000 signatures in one day, and is even now closing in on 100,000. During a Namco-Bandai event today From Software's Director, Hedetaka Miyazaki officially announced Dark Souls: Prepare to Die, a port with plenty of new content. The petition paid off, and PC gamers should be proud.
The announcement has been leaked and teased for what must be weeks now, so it must be gratifying for fans and the developers to have the official word out. The leaks don't feel so distracting anymore, what with the reveal of so much extra content being introduced. In particular, the hand with a thousand eyes and the giant lion with horns and wings look amazing.
Fans can expect to see Dark Souls: Prepare to Die available starting August 24, both digitally and in retail. And remember, From Software is already considering the next place to take the franchise.
