There must be some Old Republic players out there complaining they don't have enough friend invites to share with their 25 closest buddies, because BioWare has raised the MMO's Friends Trial limit from three to a whopping 25. That or EA desperately wants to bolster their potential subscriber base, and they're casting a very wide net.
This move follows several consecutive free-to-try weekends, which leaves many wondering about the state of SWTOR. So in case you couldn't convince your 25 BFFs to try the game for a weekend, maybe throwing an 7-day trial their way will work. All you need to start spamming your friends is an active Old Republic account.
The Friends Trial allows players to try the four origin planets and "experience the opening adventures for each class." The trial's level range caps at 15.
EA and BioWare's recent efforts to attract more players certainly feels a tad excessive. With MMOs, we normally don't see this sort of pattern unless a game is struggling to keep its subscriber base, but in February, Old Republic reportedly held 1.7 million active subscribers. Talk about mixed messages.
