Awesomenauts comes to PSN and XBLA in May
2D side-scrolling MOBA? Awesome
Flying monkeys, ice frogs, and space cowboys are just a few of the eccentric characters you'll find in Awesomenauts. If you're thinking that game title is a little presumptive, let me tell you it might just be an understatement. This 2D side-scrolling MOBA game is endless multiplayer action, and you'll be able to play it as soon as May 1 on PS3 and May 2 on XBLA.
The online focused game will feature a 3v3 format, with split-screen and drop-in/drop-out mechanics in place. Select one of 6 available launch characters (more post-release), jump into online matchmaking and get placed directly into a game. From there you can upgrade your character to either be offenseive, defensive or support minded in your race to defeat the enemy team. Have to run? Don't worry, you'll be replaced by a slightly less awesome AI character.
No official price has been named, but $10 would probably be an accurate guess, given Ronimo Games' insistence on the 800 MSP price tag when Microsoft wanted 1200. The developers have previously brought Swords & Soldiers to almost every platform before though, so expect an update as soon as they can possible manage it. Jealous PC gamers be patient, as Romino has expressed interest in a PC port, but is focusing on its console releases currently.
