After Amazon canceled pre-orders for Dragon's Crown, a number of people began to worry that the game's development had been halted. However, Vanillaware illustrator Shigatake recently made a statement dispelling the negative rumors:
"Concerning Dragon’s Crown, although speculation and rumors are spreading, it is still being made. Please wait patiently for a future announcements."
Dragon's Crown is a much anticipated side-scroller RPG game from Vanillaware, the studio known for Grim Grimoire, Odin Sphere, and Muramasa. The game was to be launched for both the PS3 and Vita systems this year. However, pre-orders were canceled and the title disappeared from numerous retailers' listings, resulting in rumors of the game's development being dropped entirely; needless to say, fan's were quick to worry.
So, it's time for fans to resume the waiting game until more news comes from Vanillaware. Let's just hope they don't hold their breaths while doing so.
