Lotta' Wii exercise games no one stuck with. Makes sense.

Really though, pretty surprised they'd shut down Burnout Revenge. Lotta people love going back to that game.

Why would they shut off Game services already. Wait till next generation EA!

I'm still pissed they shut down the skate. servers. Nothing offered in Skate 2 or 3's multiplayer modes compares to Spot Battle in the original.

It's usually done to free up servers or to cause less hassle to the more active services (Basically some games share certain services, for example...if service A goes down because Game A has issues then Game B could run into issues...so if Game A isn't that active any more but game B is, then it is better to shut down game A and allow game B to run more effectively)

Only game I am surprised to see in that list is MMA mainly due to it not being that old, others are indeed old but just because 2000 out of the 2 million people still play it doesn't give it a reason to still be around

This would be acceptable if EA had reliable servers to begin with. Maybe they do, what do I know? I should say maintained their servers accordingly.

Burnout Revenge is much better than a lot of PS3 racing games except NFS: Hot Pursuit...But anyway, online gaming is not a thing to go on forever with the cost of running servers higher than ever before (stupid electricity prices)...I'd prefer offline beating my own records or honing my dirfting skills

If you know about electronics then you would know how much of a pain it can be to maintain them and more importantly how unexpected issues can spring up...believe me, I have been behind the scenes and seen for myself how annoying it can be.

True maintaining servers and services is a priority but even those that take every precaution and step to avoid such issues fall into traps every now and then and with EA being one of the biggest publishers and developers churning out 10+ games a year, it can't be easy.

Not to say other companies don't churn out that many games but people forget how many games EA produces and expects every single one to run perfectly

Plus as THM mentions online gaming isn't a thing to go on forever...with competitive titles and sequels being released not everyone goes back to play games for the online capability

It's like going back to play Age of Empires and trying to find someone to play there, sure that game is older than those on the list and uses a different method of connecting online but the point is the same.

Slow your roll, Shadow. I'm just being a dick because, well, EA hasn't been too kind to me the last few years. I do have some sort of idea as to how much time and resources are required to maintain a server; I have and still manage my own for a game called Nox. In fact, I think I might be one of the last people outside of Korea to do so, lol.

EA should release the server side software when they shut these down, I'd be happy with that

The Saboteur had online capabilities?

I thought the Saboteur was made by pandemic...Until they closed down.
