Feel like the current motion/touchcreen controls for Rovio's Angry Birds aren't letting you put your angry gameface on? Some very handy fans cooked up their own solution in the form of a slingshot modded to work with PC version of the game using motion control. The idea was to make the game react to whenever you pull and release the slingshot in similar fashion to the angry catapault inside the game itself.
Naturally, the execution to getting such a "peripheral" off the ground was a little more complicated. Electrical and mechnical handiwork were required to wire up the slingshot with all the necessary hardware components (including an accelerometer), and that's before factoring the software coding needed to actually make it work with the game in the first place.
See for yourself at the project's homepage (linked below). If you have the same kind of knowhow, all the necessary ingredients and steps needed to produce your own USB slinghot are provided as well. Then you'll be, like, totally slingshotting those angry birds now.
