As promised, indie publisher Paradox Interactive has announced three new games just as GDC 2012 begins. Introducing Dungeonland, RED Frontier, and from the makers of Magicka, The Showdown Effect. Each of the newly announced games will available to "view and play" on the GDC show floor. Read on for brief summaries of the three games, and trailers for each below.
Dungeonland: Customize your warrior and battle through an (evil) theme park, defeating monsters, and collecting treasure and gear. Also featuring Dungeon Master multiplayer, where three heroes must fight their way through a fourth player's custom theme park.
RED Frontier: Multiplayer RTS with up to twelve players per server. Easy to pick up and play, featuring customizable sets of units and tech, and an unlock system that will have you playing for hours.
The Showdown Effect: Multiplayer 2.5D action game with a focus on recreating the crazy cinematic fight scenes from your favorite 80's and 90's movies. Bullet dodge, explosions, katanas, and context sensitive actions will have you whispering, "Stick around," to your friend as you stab them with a broom. Up to eight players and multiple game modes, with a promise of gory, exciting combat that never ends.
Paradox has another interesting lineup of indie titles, each of them with the potential to be one of the year's best. As Paradox says, "Size doesn't matter when it comes to big gameplay experiences from small development team." Any of the three catch your eye?
