Money will come from microtransaction business model
We already heard DUST 514 developer CCP call their PSN shooter "free," but everyone assumed that entailed a one-time cover charge when you buy the game. Turns out, there won't be any mandatory costs, even to own the game.
CCP and Sony confirmed today that DUST 514 will be totally free, though additional content -- like the game's "Starter Pack" -- offer will cost real money. Executive producer Brandon Laurino insists no one will be able to buy themselves a significant advantage, either.
DUST 514 beta launched earlier this year, while the full game is expected some time this summer.
