Kojima's Fox Engine capable of startling realism
Can you tell the difference in these images?
Think you've played enough games to tell the difference between real and virtual? Kojima Productions is putting those senses to the test, and what a test it is.
The studio uploaded a series of images on its website to show off exactly what their Fox Engine is capable of. One set of images are real photos, and the other is a series of renders created using the Fox Engine tech. Check them out below -- and don't even think about cheating.
Pretty tough, right? Take a closer look, and you'll notice the two are far from identical; just incredibly similar. So which one is the fake? The one in which the chairs look ridiculously perfect.
Scroll down to have your mind blown. The Fox Engine will most likely be powering the next Metal Gear Solid title, as well as Project Ogre.

But in all seriousness, this is insanely good looking.
For Fox Engine? I suspect Marketing techniques? I don't know...
The actual gameplay is the final factor in deciding graphical quality of engine whether it be Fox or Unreal Engine 4!..Definitely we shouldn't have much trust in some pre-rendered photo-realistic graphics!!!
the black chairs are a slightly bit off in shading, it lacks a bit of reflection from the lights. the red chairs on the A side have some rounder spots and bulges in the which is probably from usage while the chairs on B are much tighter. that and some of the posters on B are missing reflection from the ceilinglights
the horse however is flawless, the shade, the mane, even the saddle has no difference from a real one and i've been riding and taking care of horses eversince i was a 12 year old boy. especialy horse pic nr 2 is good with the dark shading on it.
just minor details i'm looking at but i'm impressed.
