Of course I'll give it a try, I have little choice as everybody comes to me for advice on things, but I'm apprehensive. As long as they didn't cripple the interface when it comes to using the standard mouse + keyboard setup I can probably live with it, but this just seems like a bad idea for their mainstream operating system.

I can only hope this new UI isn't to Windows what Gnome Shell is to the Gnome environment under Linux. It could very well be their biggest disaster to date if it is.

I'm looking forward to it. I don't like how it looks like it'd be a Windows 7 with a big flashy Windows 8 file manager running in the background, but I like some of its features, like App History. It will replace some of the network monitors I currently use. Some of the new features are subtle, but I think they'll help up my productivity at home.

^ ? It doesn't give me the option to enter my own code. It searches for its own code, but fails.

I'm sticking to the regular desktop mode, assuming they don't have a 'brainwave' and decide forcing the bloody smartphone+XBL Marketplace business all the time is "...the best thing to ensure the same level of quality for all of our customers." or some such nonsense.

I have an HP Tablet\Laptop hybrid I really want to try this on. I'm sort of afraid I won't be able to find all my drivers though. Anyone know if that may be an issue? It's currently on on Windows7 64bit.

Or lack thereof.
