Developer happy to report
So much for Microsoft's theory of horror game Alan Wake not being suited to PC: the game broke even on its development and marketing budgets within 48 hours of its initial Steam release.
The news comes way of developer Remedy Entertainment's forums. Responding to a fan curious on the sales thus far, they say it's going just swell.
We are very happy with the sales and hitting #1 on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing. We recouped our development and marketing expenses during the first 48 hours. And yes, we're certainly very excited about PC.
A full thank you was posted here.
Remedy has recently hinted Alan Wake: American Nightmare will be hitting the platform as well. We'll be on it when the announcement is official.
If you're still Wake-curious, we've played a good chunk of it for our forthcoming review, so keep an eye out this week.
