Sony Computer Entertainment's Gravity Rush is billed as a much-needed killer app for the Vita, and launched in Japan last week (under the title Gravity Daze) amidst positive reviews.
The good news is that the title didn't disappoint at retail with sales of 43,462 units during launch week, according to Media Create. That means right out of the gate, Gravity Rush has already surpassed the former bestselling Vita title, Ragnarok Odyssey, which secured lifetime sales of 41,614 units after a little under two weeks on the market.
The bad news is that not even Gravity Rush could spur Vita hardware sales. In fact, Vita sales actually decreased quite a bit in Japan compared to the week before. Weekly Vita sales have had a hard time breaking anywhere near its launch week figures since falling below 20,000 units back in January.
