More action, more B-movie, more Twilight Zone
Alan Wake's American Nightmare is just a couple weeks away, due out February 22 and just days after the Steam release of Alan Wake. Despite sharing a franchise, American Nightmare isn't exactly like its predecessor. Instead, it splits off into another universe, separate from Alan Wake, and Remedy really drives that point home by giving American Nightmare a totally different feel.
The downloadable title is more action-driven than the first game, adopting a B-movie meets Twilight Zone feel. Indeed, American Nightmare takes place in a TV show -- the fictional Night Springs series -- that Wake himself used to write for. Fitting he should end up trapped in an episode of it, fighting a psycho version of himself.
Check out the new dev diary with Remedy below. Toward the end you'll find a bit more gameplay showing off the murderous denizens of Night Springs, including a bloodthirsty firefighter.
