The fact that I had to look at these pictures closely just to see the difference speaks wonders of how great Skyrim already looks like without the HRTP on.

Skyrim looks great, but there is plenty of room for improvement. Just ask all the modders who put in HD models into the game long before this patch. Then again, I may have been spoiled by Witcher 2.

i disagree with the article and both of you, (respectfully of course) the reason you can barely tell the difference is because the original textures were bad, and the official ones aren't really much better. if you really want to see what high res textures look like in skyrim then go here.

That mod is nothing short of amazing, i cant imagine the amount of work the author must have put in... more than bethesda, that much is certain. almost everything is drastically enhanced with the latest version. for some reason though the screenshots that appear first are of the older versions, so scroll back through the pics to see the most recent version. this guys mod has upped my skyrim experience x 4k. as for this official stuff... skip it like its a youtube add and move on. (with all due respect to all parties....of course)

I'd like to see some direct comparisons between the popular fan-made one and the new official texture pack.

    As you should be.

mtgAzim I must've only seen the old screens, though I thought I looked through them all recently and didn't find the difference drastic.

Fury I'd do that but it seems the mod was removed earlier today.

Huh, that had to have been taken down in just the past couple hours. It was there when mtgAzim posted it.

It must be noted not all textures in the game are improved === Worthless

"Today Bethesda released the High Resolution Texture Pack (HRTP) for the PC version of Skyrim today."

If you guys need a proofreader, I'm looking for work.
Oversights are inevitable, even for proofreaders. Pointing them out is appreciated, but politely is preferred. The error has been fixed.

Wonder how you could play Witcher without it lagging with great textures? I won't tell you exactly why, but let's say that Witcher is compensating for something, or a lot of somethings.
It's not. This doesn't have to be a competition. Both are great games with different strengths and weaknesses. Both of you keep debate civil or I'll have to start removing comments.
