So we heard plenty of you liked Double Fine's 2005 action adventure title, Psychonauts. Studio founder Tim Schafer is plenty glad Psychonauts won so many hearts, and would be even more glad to work on the sequel that everyone wants.
It's just that other publishers don't seem to share the same enthusiasm for the series. Schafer lamented in a Digital Spy interview last week:
"I'd love to do that game, but I'd have to convince someone to just give me a few million dollars, that's all."
As it turns out, some Psychonauts fans have ended up in high enough places. Mojang founder and master of Minecraft Markus "Notch" Persson counts himself as one of the faithful, and is more than a little willing to foot that multimillion dollar bill needed to make a Psychonauts 2 happen based on recent tweets that go along the lines of "Let's make Psychonauts 2 happen," and "...Also, I'm serious."
You know what happens when Mojang gets serious: they already scored themselves a lineup of official LEGO, for one thing. To be sure, this is by no means confirmation that a collaboration will between Mojang and Double Fine yet, but if a helping hand from a willing donor is all Double Fine needed to get Psychonauts 2 off the drawing board, the chances for a sequel just a whole light better.
