If accurate, glad I didn't hold back with the 6950. $450 is just far more than I'm willing to spend on a single piece of hardware.

Same here chautemoc. The 6950 is more than enough for my needs and there's no point in holding out for the 7950 at that price.

I got the 7970 and I'm glad I did. $550 is overpriced and I'm a little bit upset at how much it is, but for a single GPU solution to run BF3 60fps maxed 1080p, or without AA 110fps 1080p, I'll be even more glad I bought it when I get my 120hz monitor

Interesting that it would be operating at an identical clock to a 6950 at stock despite the superior 28nm technology... either way they have to make it slightly faster or equivalent to a 580 at stock and slightly faster/equivalent to a 7970 under OC for that price.

I get very similar results with the 6950, just with deferred AA turned off and post-AA turned on. The difference from deferred AA on is barely noticeable, if at all.

hmm id love to know how you get similar results...I also have a 6950 and the best my card can do is about 40 frames per second

kajenk22 Perhaps you're bottlenecked. I did some testing to refresh my memory, and it's about 40 min, 60 average, 90 max.
