The next Skyrim patch is currently being tested for all three platforms, according to Bethesda, and developers are hoping to finalize everything over the next week before releasing the update to PC and submitting to console manufacturers for approval.
PC gamers will be pleased to hear that the Creation Kit and Steam Workshop have also entered final testing phases now and should be out by the end of the month. For PS3 owners, this upcoming update aims to fix performance after long term play, though patch notes do mention "general optimizations for memory and performance" for all platforms as well.
In addition to the bug fixes, Bethesda is also addressing a long list of quest issues, so that's pretty awesome. The list is pretty extensive, so be sure to check the 1.4 changelog for a more detailed rundown of fixes. Of course, everything is subject to change prior to the patch release.
