"Single-player adventure" That's a strange move, considering the whole game is Co-op, why make the DLC only single-player?

I'm not a video game developer or anything, but I assume it is Singleplayer only, because you are playing as "the sole antagonist", sole can also mean solo or one.

So you can't just have 4 Ryder Whites busting zombies together? The game doesn't seem to mind when you have 4 purnas or Sam B's in one game I don't know why there shouldn't be co-op in this even if it's focused around one person.

It's story driven. I'm pretty sure the story can be skipped in Dead Island's normal 4 way co-op. The creators don't want people missing out on the antagonist's version of the story, so they restrict it to single player.

Story driven? How would you know? We know nothing of it, and if anything the story format will remain largely the same as the main story. Which means it won't matter if there are a couple of extra ryder's running around that magically disappear in the rare cutscenes. It seems stupid to build a game centered and built around co-op only to have it completely removed in a dlc.

As much as I agree with you, when I played through Dead Island I fought more travesties against common sense and logic than I did zombies; as such, it really doesn't surprise me that they would do something as oddly unintelligent as this. My wallet and I are going to vote a solid "How about no?" on this DLC.

Even IGN said it, it's the story of his downfall. He'll start as a sort of "anti-hero" until he spirals down to what he was in Dead Island. It serves as a prequel and companion to the plot(if you guys paid attention to it that is). And, it won't be large free roaming environments, but smaller contained areas, not enough freedom for 4 copies of the same character.

I'm loOking forward to this DLC. I always thought the game was scarier and more fun alOne. No kids running around with infInite ammo guns killing everything and making it easy.

Well obviously it's a prequel considering the ending.

And how do we know it's smaller and more contained? Considering he winds up in the prison and the prison was large enough for 4 people (and then some) it just seems like a dumb move overall to keep it exclusive to one character when the game can just as easily be fitted for 4 player co-op as it was intended in the main game.
