This week's Star Wars: The Old Republic patch didn't exactly add a whole lot of fixes or content. No, BioWare Austin is saving all the good stuff for next week, when they introduce the "Rise of the Rakghouls" series and "a lot of bug fixes and modifications." Senior creative director James Ohlen also mentioned that the studio has plenty planned for March, including a whole new planet, warzone, operation, guild banks (Yay!), and "the second half of the Legacy System."
2012 has just begun, and we'll no doubt see more content throughout the year. That said, Ohlen has confirmed that the Austin-based studio is already working on TOR content for 2013 -- yeah, next year. What can the playerbase expect if they stick around long enough? Ohlen isn't saying, of course, seeing as how far away 2013 still is, but he did say something about the team working on the fifth story alerady, with voicework already in progress.
There has also been mention of something Ohlen calls the "Event System." He tried to keep things vague, but it sounds like the Event System will closely resemble the social quests from Warhammer, which allowed folks to complete non-instance quests in an area without forming a group.
While BioWare Austin is completely focused on The Old Republic right now, Ohlen hopes that they'll have an opportunity to work on something new soon, seeing as how they've been stuck with TOR for six years now.
