I've played RuneScape since 2004, and the way their game is heading, it's no wonder they're trying to sell it off. RuneScape was a fantastic game, absolutely brilliant, and then they started selling out completely like some of the Micro Transaction based F2P MMO's I've seen. They used to be a quality company and quality game developers, but they just... sold out, and it seems they're just trying to dump as much as they can out before the company sinks.

I mostly played RS back in 2006-2008 but I went back recently to try it out again and all I could say is "wow what have they done..." it feels like a cheap piece of crap now.

been playing since 2004 as well, but I don't think they've lost some serious amount of quality.
although since the last bot nuking day happened, they no doubt lost a lot of income since the worlds seem much more scarce of players mems or non mems.
I really only play RS for the few quests that come out now, so if it went under, I wouldn't mind.

Jagex's biggest fault is being indecisive IMO. They keep changing their stance on how they want to run things. Do that enough times and eventually you'll have done something to piss off any one of your players.
