"Login with facebook" option doesn't work for me. Click on it and nothing happens (not even trying to load anything).

Is it just me?

I bought a PS3 on boxing day with Dark Souls being one of the main few games I really wanted that were only on console. I might be willing to buy it again though, a PC's superior power getting rid of the slowdown would be a major plus.

what's the point? i'm sure some people will buy it... most will probably pirate it. Because it's such a hit and miss game, it takes some lvl of commitment to up and buy it for 360 and ps3. I'm sure people will use the 'its too hard, not every ones kinda game" factor as an excuse to download it on pc for the sake of seeing what all the fuss is about, rather then buying and committing to it.
Because pirating is non-existent on console, right? Please.

Pirating is still a huge problem, even on Xbox 360, Wii etc., like you and many developers/publishers like to forget.

I remember back in the day of the PS1, I didn't know a single person who didn't have it modded to play pirated games.

Just to add.. Digital distribution on PC makes piracy less of an issue. There is no used market on PC and I'd say the used market is more detrimental to publishers than piracy. Absolutely anyone can buy a game used and the publisher sees absolutely nothing from that sale. On Steam we see it time and time again publishers sell a game it has great success and then a year later has even more success at half price. Namco Bandai in my eyes would be stupid not to fund a small team at From Software to port this game.

chaotic - There is also the factor that a number of the people who pirate it really are just testing it out to see if it's good (because there is no demo), or will pay for it when they can pony up the cash.

That's not what I do, personally. But I'm reasonably sure that there is a fair percentage that will end up buying the game. I can certainly understand pirating as a form of demoing the game. It's their money, people deserve the chance to try something out before plonking a fair chunk of change on it, but only relatively few games actually have demos.

$60 is an awful lot of money to put forward for a game you have little idea whether it's good or a god awful console port, especially when you can't return it. I certainly understand torrenting games to demo them, but I'm sure there are people that use that as an excuse to just 'steal' them. The bottom line is that developers need to put forth quality products with no BS instead of expecting people to buy their half finished piece of crap that's choking on its own DRM.
