Discussion on the possibility of a PC version of Dark Souls made a buzz in the gaming community earlier today when one employee ("shoupinou") from Namco Bandi (who publish the game) stated on the company's forums it was a possibility (though one other stated beforehand it wasn't, and on official terms, there's no comment either way). As you might figure, the game is especially desired by PC gamers as it's got the grittiness, challenge, and depth the platform was once more famous for, and the graphical fidelity it's currently famous for.
"Honestly, I think this is an interesting request and that it deserves to be pushed," shoupinou says. "Namco have no position for now on this topic: PC versions are considered for many games but as PC is rarely the lead platform for the games released by the company, making PC version very often depends on signs that could come from users or from market globally. Up to you."
Fans were encouraged to make a petition, and did just that. Within a matter of hours, it's already hit 10,000 signatures, and we wouldn't be surprised to see it go far beyond that over the next week or so. If you like, you can sign it here.
Indeed, petitions generally aren't taken very seriously by the community, but shoupinou feels once they get into the thousands, it's absolutely influential. Besides this route, he also encourages those interested to show their support through Facebook, Twitter, and even YouTube comments.
