New features for PS Plus subscribers
Sony recently rolled out PlayStation 3 v4.00 firmware that introduces support for Vita systems. PS3 users will be able to manage content stored on Vitas, back up Vita game saves to the PS3 hard drive, and update Vita system firmware through the PS3's network features.
Also included in 4.00 is a new setting to filter friend requests and messages. For PlayStation Plus subscribers, you can now enable or disable automatic updates of game patches, firmware, trophies, and recommended content.

does anyone have a clue what practical uses it has or is it an unfinished project of theirs?
