New beta drivers from both major GPU companies are here with significant improvements for quite a few big PC games. If you want the latest and greatest and/or are experiencing significant issues in any of the titles, we'd highly recommend grabbing them.
In the NVIDIA camp, driver-side support for Ambient Occlusion -- more realistic shadowing, which enhances visual appeal -- is added for Skyrim and Modern Warfare 3 (comparisons below). This does come with a performance hit of course, so do some tweaking if necessary to maintain an optimal balance between visual fidelity and strong performance.
On the AMD side, there are performance improvements for single and multi-GPU users in Skyrim, and also performance improvements for single GPU users in Batman: Arkham City.
All users should see artifacting and corruption in Battlefield 3 resolved.
Those who've invested in more specialized hardware setups like 3D Vision, SLI, Crossfire, Surround, etc., will see improvements in titles like Skyrim, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, RAGE, and others.
