I like that he wrote it himself.

Dammit, practically the only thing I use a card on, and it's at risk.

I don't understand why people aren't more concerned about this...during that whole PSN hack debacle, people were seriously pissed. And scared.

Did you see any immediate acknowledgement in that case?
Does PSN have millions more of people on it?
Does the Steam online service still run?
Answers are no, yes, yes in case you were wondering...That's the difference here

All of the info they found is still protected though unlike the PSN stuff, which was apparently stupidly unprotected.

DeathMonkey: I wouldn't say that...they still have your usernames, email address, billing address. And while they are encrypted, they have your passwords and credit cards too.

Now I'm glad I never saved my credit card details to "make check out easier".

well, it's pretty clear that the hackers got slice ( data )
1- change any passwords that are same
2- keep an eye on ur cc activity
time like these u would see black market activity on hack forums for tracing

Just an obvious thing that we should ALL do regardless, is change our steam account password(s).

Well, luckily there didn't have to be any downtime or anything. Tons of games on Steam, just like there are on PSN. It'd suck if we had to wait for it to be fixed or something.

I think that if it did go down though, they might be nice enough to let us play online anyway. Most game servers on Valve games are dedicated, so probably wouldn't need Steam to be online, right?
