Gears fans waiting for a follow-up to Gears of War 3 might not be getting exactly what they want with the next Gears DLC, which will be centered around a different squad and set before the first Gears of War.
"RAAM's Shadow" has been announced for December release and follows the trials of Zeta Squad, comprised of comic book favorite Michael Barrick, Lt. Minh Young Kim, Tai Kaliso, and series newcomer Alicia Valera. Barrick will be making his video game debut in RAAM's Shadow, but gamers should remember Kim and Kaliso from the first and second Gears of War, respectively.
In the add-on, Zeta is tasked with evacuating Ilima City and protecting its citizens from a Locust Kryll storm. Hey, fancy that, we were wondering just the other day where the Kryll had gone. Of course, General RAAM is coming back, but anyone could have guessed that just by the title.
Epic is promising three hours of story-based gameplay in RAAM's Shadow, in addition to six new multiplayer characters, some new maps, the Chocolate Weapon Set, and another 250 toward your Gamerscore. Right, new Achievements, which means this DLC is going to cost you. At 1200 Microsoft Points (that's $15), it's better priced than most DLC for AAA titles, but the figure is hefty enough to make someone think twice about buying.
Expect RAAM's Shadow to arrive on December 13. It's also included in the Gears of War 3 Season Pass.
