Professor Layton's next puzzle-solving case for the DS, Professor Layton and the Last Specter, starts shipping to stores across North America today, and it promises to be his biggest yet. It's even got the bonus Professor Layton's London Life RPG stuffed inside, promising over 100 hours of gameplay, so you too can experience the Professor's Little London in pixel form.
Nintendo also confirms that worldwide sales for Professor Layton games have topped 12 million units since the Level-5 franchise first launched on the DS in Japan back in 2007. Lifetime sales sat at 10 million units last October, so the series is still moving units over the past year. Though Professor Layton titles are brain teaser and puzzle collections at heart, the franchise's art direction and adventure trappings helped make it a hit with a global audience.
