Forgoing typical methodology, IO/Square have put together a 16-minute gameplay video for Hitman: Absolution, giving you a good, hard look at what the game is all about.
On the whole, the package looks solid, if not as much like Hitman as we'd like. Anyhow, the Glacier 2 engine seems to make for heavy atmospherics and lighting, though you can notice some pretty intense aliasing. The downsides: lots of linearity (hopefully this won't apply much to the full game), and a weird 'hide your eyes' mechanic which makes you look more suspicious when disguised than if you'd just looked down.
The action really gets going around eight minutes when you take a cop hostage, and escalates from there.
