Lorenzo101 Games are expensive and time consuming to make. Publishers can only wait so long for new money.

Why are all games using patches for bug issues? They should have those fixed before release, but I guess no game is perfect

Is anyone really all that surprised? Granted it's id and they haven't had many bad launches, but the state that most pc games are in at launch has been pretty shitty in recent years. Hell I still can't play Dead Island without shutting off all of my W7 graphical features and restarting before playing. Give it a week or two and if after that they don't have it fixed, then yes complain all you want. I feel your pain but it's bound to be patched soon.

Hm.. im sure that EACH side is to blame, not only the devs. Sure, they are to blame cause they realy had to spend more on testing... But for ATI for example: While using Linux since a few years, ATI-Drivers are always a piece of crap, and bugged as hell. Sure, you can get them to work, but how many problems in the past? Nobody wanted to listen "linux is not for gaming" everyone said.. but hey, linux would be awesome for gaming IF the devs would provide a linux build! And about those "why do other good games not have this problems?" well... most of them are using DirectX, not OpenGL... And So, actualy DirectX support in the drivers is more solid build, but Windows only, which is bad for linux for example... People realy stop technical progress by whining about a game (!) which does not work in the first hours (!) after a release. Just give everyone his time.. ID for maybe adding a few fixes about how the megatextures behind you are removed or maybe held, ATI for newer drivers etc. If you cant run it, play it in 1-2 days and it'll work, im sure. So the last thing from me: Devs haven't failed for me.. as long as they bring out a patch very soon. If the game still got massive problems a week after release, then i would call it a fail... What reminds me of all those kiddies giving the game a rating of 0/10 because of the graphics... what the hell would they give minecraft for a rating?! (and at last: it doesnt work for me too, but hey, they will manage this, as always!.. if not, THEN i will change my mind...)

Patches!???? We don't need no stinking patches!! :-)
I'm anticipating delivery later today. Once that's done, I'll wait on that stinking patch I guess.

I was so, so excited for this game. It looks like PS2-era graphics on my rig; Dual GTX 570's, i5-2500k @ 4.3ghz, 8GB DDR3 1866mhz RAM, 240GB 500mb read/write ssd.

I'm going to try to get a refund for this game, totally unacceptable. Words can't describe how awful this game looks, how many bugs and glitches there are, how much texture pop-in there is, the complete lack of any graphical options aside from resolution, AA, and GPU Transcoding. It's unplayable. I don't even care about any patches, this all just totally ruined this game for me and turned me off. I don't want it on my PC anymore, and I want my money back plain and simple.

I don't get why they don't test most, if not all major makes of cards before release, to stop this happening?
