Of note: This is the same as the iPhone's limit for downloading App Store apps over 3G.

So you won't be able to download games over 3G?
WTF?
Isn't the whole reason for 3G is to be able to do this in the first place.....
Sad face

Several PSP minis are under 20MB so there's that. Given 3G's measly download speeds, it's probably for the best, especially since you can't play online games with 3G.

With 3G's speeds, you have to factor in 3G reception in addition to finding players not too far from your location. I was briefly considering picking up the 3G Vita but now it seems that 3G is only good for Skype and social applications.

Reenee I know it can't play games online with 3G,but the thing that was gonna set this apart from the Go was to be able to download games from anywhere.
It might as well be a re amped Go now.....

Wouldn't Wi-fi be better to use anyway instead of 3G ?

@Wakaman & Reenee - Actually, supposedly Sony is working with devs to make games playable online with the the 3G 128kbps DL and 64kbps UL limits they'll have. Source is a Sony rep mentioned in the Gamesradar article.

Regardless it's a crappy limit and hardly worth paying for IMO.

Not really.. 3G is there to allow online gaming when you're out and about. For that the 20Mb limit isn't going to be an issue at all. If you're gonna be downloading something big you can normally wait until you get home or find a free Wi-Fi hotspot.

BlackLabel erm no,3G is(was, apparantly) for shit like Twitter,Facebook, psn messaging, and pretty much just staying connected to it on the go.
It was clarified that 3G won't be for online play for a few months now.
Shadow of Death I didn't get that from the article......

...Sony is also working with software developers to ensure the 3G's 128Kbps download and 64kbps upload speeds won't hinder online gameplay.
It's pretty clear they intend to use it for online gaming.
