RIFT 1.5 is here, and like with every major patch, this one implements its own share of major in-game changes. We're not just talking about the "Ashes of History" in-game event or the new Warfront, but rather the addition of Planar Attunement and Chronicles.
The former is a little extra feature players above level 50 can mess around with for additional bonuses. Basically, the XP you earn (from kills, quests, dungeons, etc.) after reaching max level will be funneled toward your next Planar Attunement level. Every level you then gain grants 100 Attunement Points, which can be spent on one of six planes. Every plane offers a "grid of bonuses" that you can unlock by buying its core power. From there, you'll gain access to the surrounding "hexes" or skill trees, thus opening up more ways of customizing your character's stats, spells, and so forth.
Chronicles are the other major addition to RIFT with the 1.5 update. As we previously mentioned, these dungeons support one to two players, but don't let the tiny party size fool you. Only well-geared level 50 players should tackle these dungeons.
- Chronicle of Attunement – Commemorate turning level 50 with a celebration in your honor, and harness the power of the planes with Planar Attunement.
- Greenscale’s Blight: The Fallen Prince – Join legends from your faction to take down Greenscale, Dragon of Life!
- Hammerknell: Runes of Corruption – Discover the fate of missing scouts, and of the Dwarven delve itself.
The aforementioned Warfront opens up the Library of the Runemasters for PvP goodness. Trion has also released "Veteran Rewards" for long-time subscribers, with more unlocked in the months to come. For full details, check out the official site.
