Battlefield 3 open beta is live on all platforms

GAH! played just fine for 3 hours earlier, now when I try to load the beta crashes my ps3

With the exception that now you can adjust your Video & Audio it's almost as bad or even worse then the Alpha. At least in the alpha we didn't have any options at all and we accepted it as an alpha but this is beta and most beta's even open beta's are usually better then this. I also don't like the fact that they didn't tell you that your user name in Origin is also your player name. You can't create the player name you usually use in games.

Why?

Ugghhh, I really suck at this game. Only in one game did I get at or above a 1:1 K:D ratio (7:5 I think it was). That was largely because I managed to shoot two or three people in the same place, then run up and shoot them near the objective (I couldn't reach the actual objective though, too many enemies).

Usually I'm getting riddled by sneaky snipers and assault rifle masters >_>

The distant glare off of sniper scopes is a nice touch though. Netted me a kill at least.

Shadow of Death Takes awhile to get into the swing of things, as ever.

Using the sniper makes it pretty easy to go positive. Just keep an eye on the objectives in addition to where they seem to be spawning and you can pick up some easy kills.

Same here. I'm absolutely horrible at BF3 multiplayer...may be that I never played any Battlefield game before, and the game didn't explain the controls at all...i kept getting killed by snipers and people hiding in cheap places...I was thinking of getting BF3 over MW3, but this is turning me off.

The learning curve is much longer, but much more rewarding. Stick it out! Reading forums for basic tips will help considerably. I'd recommend starting with this BC2 video -- much of the content still applies.

When does 360 Beta get that open vehicle map? Anyone know?

my beta isnt working anyone else experience this problem of connection to ea lost

Actually. I had a lot of trouble getting into BF:BC2, and I thought leveling up was taking a ridiculous amount of time/xp. But I am having the best time playing this BF3 Beta. I started last night and I'm halfway to level 5 by playing only twice, and I already feel that the game is very balanced - at least for now. Even with all it's glitches and stuff, I still see the game as the best since COD4, maybe ever.

I've tried playing Battlefield since BF2 came out on PC and this has been the most noob-friendly one so far IMO. I've always done bad on BF until now haha. Maybe it's because the map is more CoD-esque. Vehicles and open areas usually screw me over.

Whoever thumbs downed this guy, you're an idiot. The man speaks the truth.

For a BETA some of the bugs are just horrendous, falling through the floor. I've actually been under the map killing people. These were bugs that were spotted 5 minutes in to the first game. How on earth have these not been rectified for this BETA?
